My first magazine contribution!

Any AMA members out there? If you have received the September 2007 issue of the American Motorcyclist magazine, turn to page 43 and check out the top right-hand corner. Yep, that’s my contribution! Last year I had sent in the description of a motorcycle accident I had a long time ago in India, for the monthly column Crash Course. Well, they finally decided to publish it, along with many other similar stories in an article called Riding Smart. I’ll put a link to it online once it shows up on the AMA website.

  1. Congratulations! Not that you had an accident, but that you have turned something tragic into a helpful lesson for others. I look forward to reading it.–Brent

  2. Thats amazing! I am not able to get AMA but make sure you post the link to me as soon as you get it.

    I am going to post a little information about Bajaj scooters today – any insight would be greatily appreciated.

    Awesome dude! I will come back and check if the link is up. Is there anyway to scan and upload it if the link is not up soon?

  4. Yay! Nice feeling, isn’t it?

    (I came over from Vespa Motorcycles.)

    Vinny, not more than two minutes ago, I read my Sept. issue of AMA and read the “Riding Smart” piece. I read one by a guy with the name Vinod from OH. Immediately I wondered, “Is this the Vinny from Motorcycle Diaries?” I logged on to see if you’d ever mentioned your last name. Low and behold, I see that it is indeed you. You’re famous! I’m glad to know you–and learn from your lessons. Congratulations!!

    I was reading ur blog posts and found some of them to be very good.. u write well.. Why don’t you popularize it more.. ur posts on ur blog ‘Motorcycle Diaries’ took my particular attention as some of them are interesting topics of mine too;

    BTW I help out some ex-IIMA guys who with another batch mate run where you can post links to your most loved blog-posts. Rambhai was the chaiwala at IIMA and it is a site where users can themselves share links to blog posts etc and other can find and vote on them. The best make it to the homepage!

    This way you can reach out to rambhai readers some of whom could become your ardent fans.. who knows.. 🙂
